Our boards are handcrafted in the U.S. by furniture artisans using sustainably sourced materials. We obtain our wood from byproducts of furniture manufactories and FSC certified environmentally managed forests.
This particular cutting board is made from black walnut that is native to Eastern North America. This configuration will typically expose all of the different characters of wood whether it is quarter sawn, flat cut or rift sawn. It is cut along the length of the grain opposed to across the grain. Juice groove on one side catches juices as you chop or turn over to use without.
The wood on our boards is glued together with a non-toxic food-safe glue.
We use 100% mineral oil and beeswax to finish our wood and absolutely nothing else is added in the process.
